Well, thank you so much to our fantastic audiences who came and supported our wonderful premiere production of Lark on the Wing! Having begun this journey back in January, it was wonderful to see this collaboration take full flight. It takes a huge amount of work to plan, rehearse, learn lines, source costumes, make the set, as well as organise the publicity for a production and we love to see that come to fruition during our play weeks. We loved rehearsing and performing this big production with our friends from Fordingbridge Players – in fact we became one big family group and it was an absolute pleasure to be part of it.
Of course, we are particularly grateful to Ron Perry for writing the play too! What an undertaking – to research and write this special play celebrating the life of Flora Thompson, but also to direct the large cast! We were also pleased to welcome and hear the musical talents of Paul Stacey each evening. Listening to the beautiful haunting folk songs created a very special atmosphere. There were so many people backstage too that we must not forget – the technical team, the set builders (what a beautiful backdrop!) and, of course, the front of house and refreshment teams. Where would we be if you couldn’t purchase a raffle ticket and get a drink during the evening? Thank you everyone.
But, for now, it’s time to rest before we begin again in the Autumn…..!!!
