This spring we will be bringing A Touch of 70s Nostalgia to Redlynch Village Hall, with three short plays, performed by an all female cast.
Bus Stop by Rae Shirley, is a comic take on a seemingly endless wait for the bus to arrive, when conversations revolve around village gossip, varicose veins and a portion of chips! You won’t look at a bus queue in quite the same way again!
The Nannie, by George Melly (yes, that George Melly – the Jazz musician!) is a witty little monologue, which harks back to simpler times and concludes the first half.
People Like Us by Cherry Vooght takes a wryly humorous looks at three women on a seaside holiday in a caravan. Set atop the cliffs in the ever-changing British weather, the women face the looming topics of loneliness and independence as their years advance. Ultimately, they are indeed ‘people like us’ and we are left wondering how we face some of the challenges the advancing years bring us as well as our relationships with our nearest and dearest.
