Beverley is entertaining the new neighbours, and she’d love you to join in! After an intense few weeks rehearsing Mike Leigh’s classic play, highlighting 1970s suburbia, we are thrilled to bring ‘Abigail’s Party’ to the stage in all its’ vibrant and garish glory. For those who are unfamiliar with the story, Beverley and Laurence have invited their new neighbours, Angela and Tony, round for a little soiree and are joined by Sue, who’s teenage daughter, Abigail is having a party and doesn’t want her mother around. The evening begins well, but following many tactless remarks and displays of marital tension, it gradually descends into chaos as the drinks flow and the adults begin to behave rather badly! The characters have been wonderful to portray and the cast are thoroughly bringing them to life on a wonderfully set stage complete with some classic 1970s décor! Directed by Lloyd Perry, we will be performing in Redlynch Village Hall later this month.
So… gather your 1970s gear, grab a cheesy pineapple on a stick and get your tickets for this great play – a perfect way to cheer up the autumn evenings!
Performances will be Wednesday 22nd November. Thursday 23rd November, Friday 24th November and Saturday 25th November at Redlynch Village Hall.
Doors will open at 7pm for a 7:30 start.
