After months of writing, planning and rehearsing, this lark is now about to take flight! When we first read this play in December, we couldn’t wait to bring it to life on the stage. Retelling Lark rise author, Flora Thompson’s, life story, Redlynch Players are delighted to have been joined by Fordingbridge Players to produce Ron Perry’s latest exciting play, Lark on the Wing.
Featuring live music and traditional folk songs, Lark on the Wing takes us on a journey from Flora Thompson’s Victorian childhood through to her (lesser known) later life. It tells of intriguing events in her adulthood, including some of the obstacles this unassuming girl, from an Oxfordshire hamlet, overcame to publish her work.
It has been a pleasure to rehearse with our friends from Fordingbridge Players once again and the team have greatly enjoyed their time together. Many biscuits and cups of coffee have been consumed to fuel our large cast! Both groups have missed being able to produce plays to a live audience during the last two years and are keen to show you what we have been up to!
Not content with writing the play, Ron Perry has also directed and supported this big production – no mean feat by any means! Thank you, Ron, for your unwavering hard work and attention to detail week by week. We hope you, our audience are looking forward to seeing this enchanting play soon.
